Regent Theatre

Originally a ‘picture palace’ in 1929, the Regent Theatre has survived fire, flood, abandonment and repeated threats of demolition to regain its place as one of Melbourne’s most prized theatres for live performances.

In the 2019 Refurbishment Project, Prestigious Painting and Decorating Services was proudly contracted to complete restoration works in the Level 4 Stalls Bar, Stalls East/West Walls in the Auditorium, DDA Toilet Back Wall, Level 5 Lounge Bar and Dress Circle East/West Walls and Main Entrance Foyer Display Cabinets.

The project required the Level 4 Stalls Bar and the Level 5 Lounge Bar to be completely demolished, rebuilt and refurbished. This presented a great challenge in that we were required to replicate the pre-existing surrounding Textured Wall Finishes and colours, including identifying the same application techniques that previous contractors had used before us.
